The photographs in this gallery are all by Charles Weightman or Alan Bullimore and are reproduced by kind permission of both gentlemen. The Signal Box pictures are a record of the situation that existed in the late 1960's in the period when Beeching was closing some of these lines, e.g. The Great Central. Many are taken from trains. Most of these photographs are monochrome images and dates are shown where known. Dates containing zeros indicate unknown dates.

The quality of these images are superb They have not been cropped, reduced in size or altered from the originals. A small number have been compressed. Consequently, some files are very large, circa 1-2 mb.
